When you think of celebrities, you think of that gleaming white, perfectly centered, spotless smile. But not all celebrities have perfect teeth. Many superstars have been through extensive dental work to gain their perfect pearly whites, while others refuse to “fix” their teeth. These famous personalities may be in the minority, but most are loved for their unique teeth and celebrated for their less-than-perfect smiles. Many claim that their snaggle-tooth chompers paved the road for their fame. Take a look at our list of famous people who’ve chosen to keep their smiles natural and not go into the dentist’s chair to achieve a model smile.
This True Blood actress is well known for her adorable gap tooth smile. Anna Paquin has gone so far as to say that she doesn’t want to have her teeth fixed because it could limit her to playing only modern people in her acting roles. Not everyone in the 1800s had perfect teeth. Now that’s authentic.
As one of the most popular female singers in history, Madonna has had many opportunities to close the gap in her front teeth during her many reinventions. This super-celebrity keeps it real and flashes her gap-toothed smile anytime. Madonna is also known for keeping it natural and not over-whitening her teeth.

Natural teeth can be even more than just a statement of not wanting to fix something that isn’t broken. Jewel commented to People that after one of her first casting auditions she asked the director, “‘Why me? You could’ve had anyone you wanted.’ And he said, ‘You have period teeth.’ So I got the job because I was the only actress in Hollywood who hadn’t gotten her teeth fixed!” If Jewel had fixed her teeth early in her career, there may never have been a career.
Lauren HuttonSource: www.shrimptoncouture.com
This 70s model may be the original gap-toothed model who started it all. Early in her modelling career, Hutton was told by agent Eileen Ford that she had to get her gapped tooth fixed or she’d never make it in the business. Hutton agreed with no actual intention of closing her gap. During photo shoots she would wear a piece of wax in between her teeth to cover the gap, until one day she was on set with photographer Richard Avedon. Avedon, known for cutting edge, raw photos, refused to let Hutton wear the wax and photographed her in all her gap-toothed fabulousness. That’s where it all began.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Buscemi’s response is, “You know, I won’t work again if you fix my teeth.” Buscemi’s trademark smile has led him to play dozens of original and interesting characters on the big screen.
