Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Check out our list of the best Thanksgiving weekend activities for the whole family!

Your family is all here. The turkey is roasting, the stuffing is warming, and you’ve got the game on. But, if you’re like us, you didn’t think much further than the main event. Fortunately, we’ve got you. Check out our ideas for last-minute family fun this weekend!

1.Christkindl

Christkindl

Arlington’s famed Christmas market opens this weekend, and it’s bigger and better than ever, Bring out the entire family (plus leashed pets!) and get lost among the stalls, sample homemade gingerbread and other German specialities, and enjoy some live music. The Brave Combo will be playing from 7pm-9pm Saturday night, or, if you can’t make it then, just come on out to browse the handmade gifts and check out the Santa Haus and Marionette Theatre.

2.Santaland and the Hot Chocolate Choo Choo at Lincoln Square

santaland

Santa will be making his annual appearance at the Lincoln Square shopping center, so bring the little ones out and make a day of it. All donations will benefit the Wish with Wings charity, so your visit will help bring holiday cheer to young children with life threatening illnesses. There will be Black Friday sales on, of course, but even if you aren’t looking to brave the Black Friday crowds, you can still hop aboard the Hot Chocolate Choo Choo and check out the decorations.

3.Prairie Lights

Prairie

If you haven’t checked out Grand Prairie’s Prairie Lights tour, why not make this your year? The two-mile drive to the holiday village is gorgeous, and all rides and attractions in the village are included in the price of admission. Your kids will love the Holiday Laser Show and walk-through Lighted Village, plus you’ll be among the first to see the all-new Gumdrop Alley. Sip some cider or cocoa, say hi to Santa, and make an evening of it. This is one of the area’s favorite events, and with good reason.
