Yes, winter is almost over. It can only be good news, then, that it’s already time to get ready for spring!
It will cost you a short list of transition “to-dos,” but it will be worth it. Soon, the weather will be nicer, the days will be lighter and longer, so take care of certain boring tasks now to free up your time once spring is finally here!
Especially with the moderate temperatures (before it gets HOT hot) here in North Texas, the great spring weather is notorious for lifting spirits. We hope this means more smiles are ahead! Dr. Mark C. Marchblanks would like to take credit for at least a few, but to be sure everyone can slap a smile on in coming weeks, we’ve outlined your get-ready-for-spring to-dos to knock the next season right out of the park!
1. Clean your closet
What could be a better way to welcome the spring than to get rid of all the STUFF you’re not using anymore?
It might be time to give up all those clothes you always thought you’d wear (or can’t anymore). A good starting point is to donate these articles to Arms of Hope, for example, where you can schedule a free donation pick up. All you need to do is fill out the form on their website, and somebody will come to pick up whatever you want to donate!
2. Freshen up your lawn
Shorter days and the occasional freeze might have done a number on your lawn. If you are the type who wants to get out there and freshen up the turf yourself, you’ll surely need some supplies. Start with a visit to the Site One Lawn and Garden Supplies Store. If you need a lawn mower or other equipment of that type, try The Lawnmower Palace.
If you prefer to hire the professionals who know what they’re doing, try the Hamann Landscape & Lawn Care Services. This local Arlington provider offers lawn services, landscape services, and leaf removal.
3. Plan to re-decorate your house
If you’ve been thinking about refreshing your home for a while, the upcoming season is the best time of the year to do it in. The warm weather that spring brings with it is a perfect opportunity to make some changes, especially in the rooms you’ll use for springtime entertainment! If you need some wallpapers, don’t miss out to visit the largest wallpaper store in Texas which is located in Arlington and has served residents for over 35 years: Leland’s Wallpapers. If you need local help with bigger projects, try contacting Arlington Home Interiors.
4. Get some plants!
What brings life home more than flowers? The same goes for the yard! Maybe THIS spring is the right time to try seeding some new types of plants. One place where you can explore interesting options is Green’s Produce. They offer not only plants but garden décor, high-quality produce and vintage treasures! Green’s Produce has some interesting offers indeed on garden décor, such as different types of pottery, concrete, iron, small additions for the garden, and more!
5. Wake your body up
In the dead of winter we tend to get a little lazier and spend our time in the coziness of our warm homes and beds. But since nature will be waking up soon, it’s a good idea to wake our bodies up, too.
Maybe you can try yoga at Arlington Yoga Center, or try biking and hiking with your family. Whichever activity you choose, it will feel much better than doing nothing at all—that, we promise!
