Would You Accept This Eccentric, Tooth Based Engagement Ring?

Engagement rings are a hot hit on Pinterest, and no matter the status of relationship women enjoy looking at them and dreaming about the day they receive one. Over the years, many unique styles or quirky alternatives to the diamond have been used. Princess Diana, for example, chose an 18-carat sapphire instead. You can also find bands with inlayed colorful graphic designs, other stone types, and even tattoos wrapped around a women’s finger to signify their upcoming nuptials. None of these compare to the wisdom tooth engagement ring California native Carlee Leifkes received this November from her now-fiancé Lucas Unger.

“When we’d spoken about it, I’d said that diamonds are so overrated,” Carlee explained to BuzzFeed News. “My birthstone is a diamond. I don’t need one to prove how much someone loves me. He’d already moved all the way from Canada to do that!”

When Lucas’ father mailed one of his wisdom teeth from his younger years, the idea of a ring sparked up in conversation. The couple visited a jeweler and asked if it could be placed into a ring just as a stone might be.

Halloween night, Lucas proposed with the finished ring and Carlee accepted. The photo of the ring was posted on Facebook with their happy announcement. The blushing bride-to-be knew that her fiancé would eventually propose with the ring, but it was still the best surprise. She told Buzzfeed that she loves how unique her ring is from everyone else’s. “I literally have my husband’s wisdom on my finger.”

The couple got hitched late in November in Vegas, complete with pink dress and Elvis leading the vows. Carlee got to marry “the man who knows that his wisdom tooth means more to me than a diamond.” (Source: USAtoday.com)

This just goes to show that your teeth are forever! Take care of them. You might just use them for something more. Congrats to the Ungers!
